Leak repair improves Cargill's bottom line

Pictured are Blooming Prairie Public Utilities General Manager Jerry Mausbach, Cargill Plant Manager Cassio Peixoto, Blooming Prairie Energy Services Representative Brian Hammarsten and Cargill Senior Processing Engineer Max Regner with a utility rebate check. Cargill repaired several tagged leaks following a recent compressed air leak check done by Mr. Hammarsten, which qualified them for a $900 rebate from Blooming Prairie Public Utilities. “Blooming Prairie’s utility rebate program aligns well with Cargill’s values of using electricity wisely, and since 2020 the company has received utility rebates totaling nearly $17,000,” Mr. Regnar noted. This project reduced 8.6 tons of annual greenhouse gas emissions, which is the equivalent to planting 10 acres of forest or removing 2 passenger vehicles annually.

Energy efficiency incentivizes Blooming Prairie Public Schools

Energy efficient lighting and cooling projects recently completed as part of the school district’s building addition led to the significant rebate from Blooming Prairie Public Utilities.
